Yut Kee Restaurant, a restaurant close to 100 years old was famous among the klang valley ‘lang’ for its hainanese style breakfast set which normally comes with chicken chop, pork chop, toast bread, steam bread, Kopi, etc. As expected, the queue was super long when we arrived because it was weekend. It took us around 1 hour to get our seat and 5 minutes for our food to be served which was insanely fast!
There are a few dishes that was sort of like ‘Must order‘ in Yut Kee according to the Instagram and some other social media platform which I researched on. Pork chop, chicken chop, Hailam Mee, Roast pork special, kopi are the one that made up to the list! To be honest, the pork chop and chicken chop shouldn’t be the must order, but the hailam mee… Must order! We didn’t have the chance to taste the roast pork special which is the specialty only on Friday and weekend because they were sold out.
I would say that Roti Babi is not a bad option too. The filling are the mixture of pork, onions, and some other veges if I am not mistaken. For the kopi Peng, I still think that Ah weng gor Kopi at the Imbi Market still the best among all. Probably this kopi is not ‘Gao‘ enough. LOL.
Last but not least, toast bread and half boiled egg are the must order for breakfast to me. In Yut Kee, you can order the steam bread instead of toast bread with their own home-made kaya and butter filling. Their home-made kaya was’t like the normal kaya spread that you can get from the grocery store, they are rather dry and less sweet.
This is the marble cake that is sold in Yut Kee. It costs RM17.00. The cake is just so so but you can give it a try! Our bills came up to about RM150.00 for 7 persons. I wouldn’t say that this is the best spot for brunch or even breakfast but it is worth a try if you haven’t been here before. Eventhough they are quite famous for the pork chop and chicken chop, I would recommend to try their Hailam mee, pork bun, and some other dishes.
